Channels & Meetings as Context
Monitor Slack and Teams channels for backlog ideas, and sync Teams meeting transcripts into your project as context.
Bring the conversations your team is already having into a project. Fabric can watch Slack and Teams channels (and Teams group chats) and turn the discussion into proposed backlog items, and it can sync Teams meeting transcripts into your project as searchable context for AI.
You set all of this up per project under Settings → Knowledge.
How this differs from other integrations. Runtime actions let an agent call Slack/Teams on demand ("post to Slack"). PM Sync keeps a backlog aligned with a PM tool. This is a third thing: pulling conversation and meeting content in as project context and backlog ideas. All three share the same connected integration.
Channel & chat monitoring
Link a channel (or a Teams group chat) to a project, and Fabric analyzes new messages and drafts proposed backlog changes for you to review — nothing is added to your backlog automatically.
| Source | Connect | How it picks up messages |
|---|---|---|
| Slack channel | Slack integration | Event-driven — reacts to new messages in near real time |
| Teams channel | Microsoft Teams integration | Scheduled scans on an interval you choose |
| Teams group chat | Microsoft Teams integration | Scheduled scans on an interval you choose |
Set it up
Open project knowledge settings
In your project, go to Settings → Knowledge and find the channel monitor for Slack or Teams (Teams also has a separate chat monitor for group chats).
Link channels
Use the link button to open the channel (or chat) picker and choose which ones to monitor. The provider must already be connected under Settings → Integrations.
Turn on monitoring
Enable the monitor. For Teams you also pick a scan interval and a quiet window; Slack reacts to messages as they arrive. You can also trigger a one-off scan to pull recent history immediately.
Review proposals
Fabric drafts backlog change proposals from the conversation. Review and approve the ones you want — only then do they become features in your backlog.
Monitoring proposes; it never writes silently. Every suggestion goes through your review before it touches the backlog. Unlink a channel at any time to stop monitoring it.
Teams meeting transcripts
Link recurring Teams meetings to a project and Fabric syncs their transcripts as project context, so AI features and agents can draw on what was actually said in the meeting.
Link meetings
In Settings → Knowledge, open the meeting picker and link the recurring Teams meetings you want. Transcripts from roughly the last 30 days are pulled on the first sync.
Keep them in sync
Turn on auto-sync to pull new transcripts on a schedule, or run a sync on demand. A Last sync timestamp shows when transcripts were last pulled.
Synced transcripts become part of your project's knowledge, so they're available to RAG retrieval the same way uploaded documents are.
Meeting transcripts require that transcription is enabled and available for the meeting in Microsoft Teams. Channel/chat monitoring and meeting-transcript sync are configured separately, both under Settings → Knowledge.
