Fabric Roadmap & AI Backlog Updates—Now with Better Syncing & Atlas Code Understanding
We've rolled out major improvements to Fabric's AI Backlog Update workflow, roadmap conflict resolution, and a brand-new "Understanding" tab that uses AI to analyze your codebase. Plus, we've tightened up Project Management tool syncing and added support for Confluence and Azure DevOps.
Roadmap now shows AI Backlog Update changes with full audit trail
See a searchable audit window on the roadmap listing every AI Update run (author, timestamp, status, and proposed changes) plus a Session history with the conversation. Full transparency into how AI shaped your backlog.
Better PM sync reliability and UX
Unified PM-sync controls in both the roadmap and feature editor, faster org-wide GitLab resolution, concurrent-sync de-duplication, and clearer error messages when syncs fail. A single chip with dropdown actions replaces the old cloud toggle + status badges.
One source of truth for all work items on the roadmap
Consolidated epic, feature, and story rows into a single work-item table. Your roadmap now has one true source and items can never be split across invisible containers—simpler, cleaner, more reliable.
AI Backlog now syncs work items to all PM tools
Feature work items created by AI Update now sync to Jira, Linear, GitLab, Fizzy, and other PM tools—previously only bugs synced. This keeps your entire backlog in sync across Fabric and your PM tool of choice.
Confluence is now a first-class project context source
Import Confluence pages directly into your project's AI context, just like Notion. Use them to enrich AI Backlog Updates and power the feature-editor 'Update with context' helper.
New 'Understanding' tab analyzes your codebase with AI
Connect a repository and let Atlas build an interactive, AI-powered dependency graph with Technical and Business lenses. Chat with the AI about your code architecture and how components relate to your roadmap—no manual documentation needed.
Smarter AI Assistant that understands your codebase
Atlas chat now cross-references both your code and business view, making AI responses more contextual and actionable—no more deflections when code insights matter.
Azure DevOps now fully supported for syncing
Pull images from ADO tickets into Fabric on import/sync, push bugs with full body text (not just Description), and use Azure DevOps as a code-repository option in project context settings.
Improved roadmap conflict & duplicate resolution
The duplicate-merge dialog now gives you more room to compare tickets side-by-side, shows the author and change source for each, and includes inline 'keep this' selectors on every card. Conflict modals align across the roadmap and Review Center for consistency.
Revamped roadmap filters with better discoverability
Inline, collapsible filter panel that remembers your state, primary facets (Type, Priority, Stage) always visible, and searchable multiselect dropdowns for Stage and Source. Faster filtering, no jumping, predictable organization.
Google Docs now available as project context
Pick Google Docs from your connected Drive and ingest them into your project's RAG store to power AI Backlog Updates and feature generation—expanding context options beyond Notion and Confluence.
